July 2, 1885 – To Mistress of Novices from from General Superior Sr. M. Edward, Kingston ON

House of Providence, Kingston
July 2, 1885
My dear Sister,

I have decided to begin my second visit to the Novitiate next Monday (D.V.). Be pleased to inform the novices of this my intention, and instruct them thoroughly in their duty regarding it. Impress upon their minds the grave obligation they are under of acting and speaking with all possible candor and simplicity during the Visit remembering that all which passes between us is to be held in inviolable secrecy.

Please recommend the success of the visit to God in your own prayers, and have special prayers offered in the Novitiate until it be over.

Praying God to bless your labors and increase His love in the hearts of those confided to your care.

I am dear Sister
Affectionately Yours
Sister Mary Edward, S.G.
Notes: The recipient was probably Sister M. of the Sacred Heart, Mistress of Novices
