Sister Rita Wins Contest

Congratulations Sr. Rita Gleason!

Sister Rita won a project-naming contest at St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital in Edmonton. The announcement was made on April 27th, 2007 by hospital spokesman Ted Greenaway.

Hello good people of St. Joseph. As you know, St. Joseph Auxiliary Hospital Foundation is raising funds for a multi-year renovation and redecoration project of our care areas and Providence Court cafeteria. This project will offer a more home like environment, for our residents. Design concepts for tub rooms, dining rooms, living rooms, residents rooms and hallways can be viewed on the oak display board in Angel Guardian Square. Today marks the end of the contest to create a catchy name for the project. At coffee this morning in Providence Court, Marilyn Snow unveiled the winning project name which is:

ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPITAL-ity Makeover. The prize is a Samsung DVD Recorder/Player. As a music lover, Sr. Rita will enjoy the sound quality of the unit’s mp3 capabilities. She’s also a fan of classic movies she can now watch on DVD.

Editors Note: The hospital was founded by the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul in 1927 and the sponsorship was transferred to the Alberta Catholic Health Corporation in 2001.
