Sharing Her Gifts With Children

Sister Alda brady was praying for a mission that offered an opportunity to work with children. By trusting in Providence, she received the guidance and mission for which she had been searching.

After receiving a blessing from her congregation on February 10th, Sister Alda left that very day on a six month mission in the Dominican Republic.

Sister Alda will be joining the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph in the Caribbean country located on the island of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the Caribbean, containing two separate countries; the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

“I’m excited, and so thankful to the Sisters who prayed for me. I’m grateful to Leadership for providing this opportunity,” said Sr. Alda.

Given Sister Alda’s gifts, it’s a perfect match. In addition to working in a school for children in grades one to six, she’ll assist at three workshops for young adults. She is particularly keen on helping children with her longtime hobby, stained glass. She’ll also teach jewelry making and woodworking.

“I’ll also spend time at a seniors’ home doing anything that is required, assisting in any ministry,” said Sr. Alda.

The Leadership Team sent a memo to all Sisters and Associates prior to Sister Alda’s trip.

It is with joy that we mission Sister Alda Brady to take our charism and join it in partnership with the charism of Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph in their mission in the Dominican Republic.

Sister Alda has been searching of late for a place to minister to poor children and use her gifts for them. Many of you have known of Alda’s heart’s desire to do this and prayed for her in this search. Alda is most grateful for your support.

The mission is called San Jose de Ocoa where Alda is ministering until the end of June.

Let us pray for her safety in travel and joy in her new ministry.
