Sister Mary Agatha Armour

Anne Lucenda Armour
1868 - 1934

On April 3, 1934, Sister Mary Agatha (Annie Armour) died during her sleep while on a visit to her sister, Sister St. Zeno of the Grey Nuns’ Community, Ottawa.

Sister’s life was chiefly devoted to the care of the aged poor and sick. She spent some years at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville and also at Providence Hospital, Moose Jaw, as well as at Saint Mary’s of the Lake. Most of her religious life was spent in the interests of the aged and infirm at the House of Providence.

Sister was zealous and generous; she found no work too burdensome or difficult if by it she could bring relief to the aged, the sick, or the orphan. In the care of the little ones Sister showed herself a true daughter of St. Vincent.
