Sister Mary Liguori Traynor

Mary Traynor
1881 - 1937

On August 7, 1937, Sister Mary Liguori (Mary Traynor) died at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital Brockville.

Most of Sister’s religious life was devoted to teaching in the various schools of the Diocese. As a teacher of primary grades Sister was outstanding, and as years went by she gained rather than lost her youthful enthusiasm and love for the little ones. This found expression not only in excellent training but in burning zeal for their sanctification.

When ill-health forced Sister to retire from active work she gave herself wholeheartedly to a life of retirement and prayer. She was an inspiration to all with whom she lived. Her serene countenance ever reflected the pure love of Christ that filled her soul.
