In this Institution at the present time is a man named Thos. Lawlor and his wife – he aged 84 and she 77 years. They have lived previous to coming to the House of Providence, on Wolfe Island for 22 years. Also a woman named Margaret Connolly aged 81 years, quite feeble, who has also lived on Wolfe Island for 45 years. As you dear Sir can readily understand these helpless old people are quite a charge on the House and in consideration of their long residence on the Island, I now appeal through you to the Council for some aid in supporting them.
