House of Providence, Kingston
Dec. 20, 1894
Reverend Sr. M. Berchmans, Sup.
St. John's Convent,
Perth, Ontario
My dear Sister:

I reply to your communication which remained unanswered on account of my absence from home, I have only this to say: you are obliged to do your duty and to see that the teaching Sisters do theirs in regard to the children under your care, quite independent of any individual, even should that person be a member of your own Community.

Faithfully yours in Christ,
Mother M. Edward, Sup. Gen.
